Hear from national experts:
- Nicola Guess RD MPH PhD is a senior lecturer at the University of Westminster and Head of Nutrition at the Dasman Diabetes Institute in Kuwait. She is a principal investigator of multiple trials looking at low-carb in type 1 and 2 diabetes.
- Adrian Brown RD PhD is a research associate at UCL. His PhD from Imperial College London looked at the role of formula low and very-low energy diets in patients with type 2 diabetes on insulin.
- Peter Foley MRCGP is a GP and Sports Medicine Specialist. He is a clinical advisor to Diabetes.co.uk, and successfully uses low-carb nutrition in his own GP practice. He is currently researching the effect of low-carb in the management of pre-diabetes.
- Dr David Unwin is a GP in Southport, a RCGP National Champion for Collaborative Care and Support Planning in Obesity and Diabetes and RCGP Clinical Expert in Diabetes. He is renowned for his deprescribing work in his practice, saving up to £30,000 per year using a low-carbohydrate approach.
