Clinical Specialist Training

Do you lack confidence when faced with complex patients? Trained as a generalist dietitian and want to specialise? Been a dietitian for a while and want to update your knowledge? Are you looking for promotion as a specialist dietitian?

Our Clinical Specialist courses are taught by bona fide world-expert dietitians. You will not get a better education in these specialisms anywhere else.

Each course has the same structure guaranteed to optimise your learning.

Over the two days you will benefit from:

  • Specialist lectures

  • Case study-based theoretical learning

  • Clinical communication skills

  • Applied clinical scenarios based on the objective structured clinical examination (OSCE) approach used in world-renowned medical education

  • Practical clinical encounters with real-time reflection and feedback

Our Clinical Specialist courses run in small groups to ensure close supervision and tailored learning. The courses run with a minimum of three and a maximum of six students.

We currently offer four Clinical Specialist 2-day courses:

  • Type 2 diabetes: with Dr. Nicola Guess

  • Weight management: with Dr. Adrian Brown

  • Colorectal surgery including inflammatory bowel disease (IBD): with Sophie Medlin

  • Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS): with Sophie Medlin

Upon completion, you will receive a City Dietitians-accredited certificate confirming the hours of training completed with a transcript of the clinical activities and learning outcomes.
