Alice Twomey

Alice Twomey is a specialist gastroenterology dietitian working in a large London teaching hospital. Alice has completed a BSc in Nutritional Sciences at University College Cork, and an MSc in Dietetics at King's College London. She qualified as a registered dietitian after completing her thesis in the dietary management of gestational diabetes. Alice has gained experienced in the community working with vulnerable and elderly adults, patients going through bariatric intervention, and patients acutely unwell in hospital. In addition, she has experience in weight management and the management of gastrointestinal disorders. Through Alice's work in the NHS, she works with individuals diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome (diarrhoea and constipation), reflux, gastroparesis, dyspepsia, and orofacial granulomatosis. She works as part of a forward thinking and research focused gastroenterology dietetic team who also treat patients with pelvic floor dysfunction, and those with inflammatory bowel disease. Alice is FODMAP trained with King's College London, and has completed further training in motivational interviewing. She is passionate about individualized care, and helping people make changes and establish behaviours, which are relevant and achievable for them as an individual.
